︎︎︎leading Anna Davidson’s undergrad “Field Reseach in the Ecological Arts” class at Cornell on a virtual trek into the island’s high-altitude Alakai’i Swamp and rainforest


tracing my ancestry across oceans and attuning again to the question “what does deep listening mean?” I find myself, via a surprising twist of fate, on the island of kauai, “the wild island” of hypnotizing green and depths to match its vibrating colors. a rooting place for my collaborative audio project audio acid trips and its creative container BATH, kauai has quickly become a place of creative residence, and a home.


after seeking out other artists building lives on this wild (ahem, SUPER INTENSE island), I had the immense good fortune of meeting Seth Womble, a Kauai muralist whose big heart and social practice project I really admire. Seth’s creation, the Nirmānā Projects is a creative network connecting professional artist-mentors with members of a young generation of kauai artists.
