so often we relegate wild beings to the world outside, apart from our human lives and homes. there is something about disheveling this division that enchants me...
I see each of these hand-painted ‘spirit creatures’ as representative of the beings who walk and stalk and burrow and fly. as colorful companions on bedroom walls, in childrens’ rooms, or in gardens, they help bridge worlds, strengthening the sacred tether between ourselves and place.
these spirit creatures are inspired by the colorful beings who roam the Mojave and Sonoran Deserts. this is an ongoing series, and I love creating unique spirit creatures as commissions.
